CHRISTIAN COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP FUND - The Council has awarded scholarships to five of our students attending non-M.B. Chris- tian Colleges. They are: Valaree Bergman at San Diego Christian College; Mackenzie Mulligan and Oliver Mulligan at Biola University; Melanie Hockett at Azusa Pacific University; and Katelyn Riley at Abilene Christian University. Shafter Mennonite Brethren Church's Children's Summer Event Schedule Any children from the community are more than welcome to attend any or all of these summer events. The theme for this summer's children's program is "Summer of Service". The goal of this program is for the children to learn and understand what it means to follow Jesus' example of serving others, as well as to have a ton of fun! Each "Serve 'n Swim" event will consist of children as a group performing an act of selfless service, such as picking up trash at a park or weeding a neglected area around churches and schools, for about 30 minutes, and then swimming at the homes of church attendees. The children's ministry intern, Oliver Mulligan, and one or two other qualified supervisors will be present at all events. If anyone would like to know what specific service will be performed and at whose home the swim party will take place, feel absolutely free to call the church at (661) 746-4969 or call or text the children's ministry intern, Oliver Mulligan.
